Unlike consumer goods, machinery cannot be returned by courier. A pre-shipment inspection at the Chinese factory is the only practical way to verify that what you ordered is what gets built, tested, packed, and shipped.
Why Machinery Needs a Different Inspection Approach
Standard consumer-goods inspections check appearance and basic function. Machinery needs:
- Specification verification against a long technical list
- Functional test runs — often with load

3. Safety Systems
Check before packing, because they are hard to test later:

4. Spare Parts & Accessories

- Check toolkits, manuals, and software are included

5. Export Crating & Packing
Heavy machinery needs professional export packing:
- Wooden crates: sturdy, correctly nailed, with sufficient bracing for the weight
- Waterproofing: VCI bags, desiccant, plastic sheeting inside the crate
- Anti-corrosion: oil or VCI protection on exposed metal parts
- Securing inside the crate: machine bolted to the base, no movement possible
- Lifting points: marked and strong enough for the total weight
- Labels: fragile, this side up, lifting instructions, and destination marks
- ISPM 15: heat-treated or fumigated wood with the required stamp for customs clearance
